PAYMENT METHODS

What credit cards do you accept?
We accept VISA™, MasterCard™, and Discover™. We now accept PayPal as well. Bank debit cards (with the VISA or MasterCard logo) are acceptable also. Sorry- we do not accept American Express. The charge will appear as paid to "Magic Tricks" on your credit card statement. **NOTE: 8/29/07- DISCOVER is temporarily unavailable while we change processors. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Do you accept PayPal payments?
We accept PayPal payments. When you check out, paying with PayPal will be one of the payment options. Clicking on that option will automatically bring you to the PayPal checkout, where you can pay using funds from your PayPal account. If you do not have a PayPal account, you will be able to open one using any credit card. The charge will appear as paid to "Magic Tricks" on your PayPal statement.

Do you ship C.O.D?
Sorry, we do not ship C.O.D.

Do you accept personal checks?
Yes. We accept personal checks drawn on a U.S. bank only. We also accept bank checks and postal money orders for U.S. orders, and International Money Orders for foreign orders. Please note: if you pay by personal check, your order will not be shipped until your check clears. This could take up to 10 days. If you send a money order instead (available at post offices and banks), we'll process your order immediately when we receive the money order.

Do you accept purchase orders?
Sorry, we do not accept purchase orders. Please use your credit card, PayPal, your check or a money order to purchase the items from Magic Tricks, Inc., and then submit your request for reimbursement to your company or institution.

SHIPPING

1.

How do you ship items?
We ship most orders via U.S. Mail, with a tracking number. Some larger items may be shipped via U.P.S. directly from the manufacturer. You will be notified if this is the case. We also can ship your package via FedEx at an additional cost.

2.

How long will it take to get my order?
We ship most items very quickly. If your shipment will be delayed because one or more items are on backorder, you will be notified by email, providing you gave us a valid email address.

We have found that normal delivery time for U.S. Mail is 3-5 business days after your order is shipped.

Please note: Once your package leaves our warehouse, it is in the hands of the carrier. We have no control over the U.S. Postal Service! Please do not complain to us about the speed of the mail service! <g> Sometimes the U.S. mail is quick and sometimes it is slower. U.S. Mail delivery times are only estimates; the Postal Service DOES NOT guarantee speedy delivery. The ONLY way to guarantee that your shipment will arrive within a day or two is to arrange with us to have the order shipped via FedEx, at an additional charge. Can I get my order faster? Overnight?
Yes. We can ship your order via FedEx for an additional charge. (Please note: FedEx orders must be placed by telephone at 1-540-832-0900. FedEx orders must reach our Order Center by 2pm Eastern time in order to be shipped that same day. Otherwise, your package will be shipped the next business day.) FedEx shipping is subject to delays caused by bad weather and other factors. Though packages usually arrive as scheduled, there is always the possibility that circumstances may prevent FedEx from delivering your package on time, even though you paid to have the service. In such cases, it is FEDEX' fault, not MagicTricks.com! We have no control over FedEx and its performance. Complaints must be directed to FedEx. Refunds must come from FedEx. The shipping fees we collect from you go to FedEx, not to us, so refunds need to come from FedEx. We will provide you with your tracking number and the FedEx phone number so that you can resolve your issue directly with them.

Do you guarantee delivery?
Yes. We guarantee that you will receive your package, or we send a replacement package free. Certain rules apply; please see our Guarantees section for details. (Foreign orders click here) We do not guarantee speed of delivery- once your package is in the hands of the Post Office, it depends on the speed of the Postal Service. If you are concerned about having your package arrive by a certain date, the only way to guarantee speed of delivery is to pay extra and have us send your package via FedEx.

OUR GUARANTEES

How can I be sure I'll get my order?
If your order is lost by the carrier and the carrier cannot give us confirmation of deliverywe will replace it- FREE.
Also, you will receive your magic item in working condition or we will replace it- FREE.
Replacements will be shipped within 7 days of notification (see Conditions below).

We guarantee that your package will be delivered to the address you provided to us. If your package is lost by the carrier and the carrier cannot give us confirmation of delivery, we'll replace it- FREE. (Lost foreign orders will be refunded by the carrier. Foreign orders click here).

Every package we send has a tracking number/confirmation number. This is our proof of delivery. If your package is lost, and the carrier cannot give us confirmation of delivery, we will send you a replacement of your order at no cost to you. (If the carrier has proof of delivery, yet you say that you did not receive your package, you must file a claim directly with the carrier, using the tracking number we will provide for you).

If you receive non-working magic items, please notify us by email within 24 hours of receiving the package. We will give you full instructions on what to do. (Non-working items are cheerfully replaced with like items. Sorry, no refunds or exchanges for different tricks. And please read the instructions before trying your tricks, because this guarantee does not cover replacement of items damaged by incorrect handling or carelessness!).

Conditions:
First, you must allow enough time for the carrier to deliver your package. In the case of the US Mail, it can take up to 30 days to deliver your package. (We know! Complain to your Congressman! <g>). For FedEx, it takes one to two business days. Please wait the required amount of time before notifying us of an undelivered package.
Second, you must notify us by email if your package has not arrived, or if you received damaged merchandise. 
Third, please don't try to file a false claim. We are informed as each package is delivered; we will be able to check if your package was delivered to you or not. If the carrier can provide confirmation that the package was delivered, we will not send a replacement. Likewise, we inspect each magic item before it ships. We can tell the difference between damage done in shipping and damage that had to be done by mishandling. Sorry that we had to include this paragraph, but while most customers are wonderful, there are always "bad apples" who ruin it for everyone and make us take these strict measures. How do I calculate the correct shipping costs for my order?
For most orders, use the chart found here. The cost includes U.S. Mail shipping, handling and the tracking fee charged by the Postal Service.

Will you calculate the shipping cost for me?
When you use the Shopping Cart to put your order together, the shipping cost is automatically calculated for you. Remember, you can use the Shopping Cart to put your order together even if you want to mail your order to us, fax it, phone it in, or email it to us. Read the instructions to find out more. If the shipping cost calculated by the cart is incorrect for your order (if an item you've ordered is heavy or large, for example), you will be notified immediately by email when you place your order. Are the items listed on the site always in stock?
Most items listed on the site are in stock, or will be back in stock within a few days. You will be immediately notified by email if an item is not in stock, and we'll let you know how quickly we can ship your item.

BACKORDERS

What happens if an item is out of stock?
Most items we carry are in stock or are restocked within a few days. Occasionally, our suppliers are backordered and we may be temporarily out of a certain item. Also, some items may be discontinued by our suppliers without notice. If you order an item, and it will be coming back in stock within a few days, we will hold your order until the backordered item comes in. However, if you have ordered an item that is temporarily or permanently out of stock, we ship your order without the backordered item. If you paid by credit card, you are never charged for a backordered item, so you don't need to worry about a refund. If you paid by check or money order, you will get a refund. We do not keep backorders on file; if any of your items are on temporary backorder and you still want to order them, we will ask that you reorder at a later date.

TRACKING YOUR ORDER

What happens if my package doesn't arrive?
Fortunately, this rarely happens. But, if your items have not arrived in 30 days after we shipped your order via USPS, or two business days if shipped via FedEx, please notify us by email (we need the notification in writing).

All packages are shipped with a dated proof of shipment receipt. If the package has not arrived when promised by the carrier (30 days for the U.S. Mail and two days for FedEx), we  will begin the tracing process as soon as you notify us. If your package was indeed lost by the carrier, we will ship you a replacement order within 7 days of notification, or we will issue you a full refund (your choice). (Foreign orders click here)

RETURNS / REFUNDS / EXCHANGES POLICY

What is your Returns Policy?
Like all other magic shops, we have a "no refunds- no exchange" policy. The value of a magic trick is its secret; once you've opened the box (or looked at the book or video), you know the secret, and the secret can't be returned!
If the item arrives damaged, just contact us and we will gladly arrange to quickly exchange the broken item for another of the same item. If you order as a holiday gift, we understand that the item may not be opened until Christmas, and a damaged item may not be discovered until then. Never fear- we will exchange any item that arrived broken!

Can I return an item if I don't like it?
Sorry, no. Please make your selections carefully, as you cannot return an item for refund or exchange. We'll be glad to answer questions about any trick. If you need help selecting the right trick, or you have a question about a certain trick, please email us or call us at 1-540-832-0900 M-Fri 11am-5pm Eastern.

Can I return an item if I break it?
Sorry, no. Magic props are made to operate with precision, and many can be easily damaged or broken if handled incorrectly. ALWAYS READ THE DIRECTIONS BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO WORK THE TRICK. And some advice- don't let others handle or "examine" your props. That's a sure way to break them!

Do you accept credit cards for foreign orders?
Yes. We accept VISA™ and MasterCard™. We limit your first order with us to a total of $100.00 (including shipping). After your first order, you can order a higher amount as long as you use the same credit card. The charge will appear as paid to "Magic Tricks" on your credit card statement

How do I pay for my order?
We accept VISA or MasterCard credit cards. We also accept International Money Orders, available at your post office, or cashier's checks drawn on U.S. funds, available at your bank. We do not accept personal checks, company checks or any checks drawn on foreign banks. Please- send cash at your own risk!

4.

How long will it take to get my order?
We ship most items quickly after receiving your order. If your shipment will be delayed because one or more items are on backorder, you will be notified by email.

We ship EXPRESS MAIL only, in an attempt to get your order to you within a few days. Unfortunately, shipments to other countries can sometimes take a week, or two weeks, or even a month or more. We have no control over this. For more on our policy, click here.

What do I do if my package does not arrive?
First, be patient. Air mail packages can take up to two months to be delivered. Unfortunately, this is not under our control. That is why every package is shipped insured. We have a dated receipt as proof that we mailed the package to you. If your package does not arrive after four weeks, please email us and we will begin the tracking procedure with the Postal Service. Either they will locate your package in a timely manner, or they will pay for the value of the package, and you will be reimbursed directly by the Postal Service for your full cost.

6.

Is my order insured?
Yes. Because of the unpredictable nature of some foreign postal services, all packages shipped outside the US must be shipped insured for their full value. The insurance cost depends on your location, and the value of your order. We do not ship foreign orders without insurance, and we cannot ship to locations that do not let us insure shipments.
